Samskriti Samrakshak fund aims to support temple worship through donations. Every month a puja would be offered at the holy shrine of Chinmaya Swayambhu Ayyappa Temple in the names of the donors on the day of their Nakshatra (Birth star) or any day of their choice. The prasada of the puja would be sent to the donors.

The age-old culture of India is marked by the presence of temples across the nation. These temples are built with a lofty purpose – the material and spiritual enhancement of devotees. The centuries-old Melpazhur Mana houses some ancient temples worshipped by the family of Sri Adi Sankaracharya. Hence it is a blessing to have these in the precincts of CIF. On these premises are the shrines of Ayyappa, Ganesha, Rama, Krishna, Vettakkorumakan, Goddesses Bhagavati and Nagayakshi. The deities bless the Mana premises with their divine presence.

Lord Ayyappa is the main deity in the centuries-old temple complex of Melpazhur Mana. The idol of Lord Ayyappa is Swayambhu (born on its own out of the earth). The temple complex also houses a Ganesha temple which is as ancient as the Ayyappa temple. Made of black stone and facing south, this Ganesha is propitiated before most auspicious occasions at CIF. A Rama idol from Ponmaanaadi temple was brought to the Mana complex and a temple was built as a tribute.

As desired by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, a vigraha of Lord Krishna was consecrated in the temple complex. The temple complex also contains Vettakkorumakan, the son of Kirata Shiva and Parvati. Vettakkorumakan is traditionally considered the eldest counsel of the Mana in addition to being a temple deity. The ancient idol of this deity was reconsecrated in the newly built temple within the Mana’s temple complex. Bhagavati, the Goddess of the Universe, resides in this small temple sanctum. Daily pujas are offered to the deity and special pujas are performed during Navaratri days. Nagayakshi, Mother Goddess of all Nagas, along with Nagaraja resides in the Sarpa-kavu of Melpazhur Mana.
