Hari Om,

In Self Assessment question 18 of Chapter 7, "Having the Lord as its substratum, maya veils the Lord" has been marked as wrong. But in Swamiji's discouse, he as clearly said "having Me as a substratum, the Maya veils Me" (page no 63, line 2).

Kindly look into it and clarify.

Thanks and regards,

Rama Hariharan

Hari Om, I have started the course and watching the videos but not doing well on the post tests.
Is there a minimum score that is needed to pass the course?
Trying to pay closer attention but the tests are tricky with more than one answer sometimes
Thank you

The URL for Lesson 3 Study Material is incorrect. The URL is Lesson 3.pdf.html. Because of the extension html at the end of the URL, the study material cannot be downloaded.

Please correct the URL or send me a PDF copy at my email.

Thank you,

Hari Om

I am very grateful for this wonderful course. The teacher is excellent. Explanations are precise, simple and easy to comprehend. He also explains how a word meaning can be derived from the root/stem. Loving it.

I noticed in lesson 2 study material that some important content covered in the session 2 are missing. For example the use of the neuter gender noun ending. Alone it ends in am. When used in a sentence and preceded by a vowel the m should be dropped and the anusvara should be used. This important note is missing from the study material.
Is it possible to get an updated version of the study material or a separate pdf that contains this content. The teacher said he would provide a pdf of that in the video.

With Prem and Om
Jay

I started a BhagVadGita course (30 sessions one).

May I know, how many participants are currently taking up the course?

Are any guided discussions are happening?

Are can we initiate discussions?

I planned to write little bit - for self-reflection after reading/listening each lesson.

Here is one post that I wrote. ["Post after Lesson First"]

I would love to interact with other learners/students of Gita. Thanks.

Just took lesson 1 of foundations of vedanta course. The concept discussed here is that if we continue to reduce our desires, we will attain more happiness. Ultimately, not having any desires equals infinite happiness. However, isn't this like running away from the battlefield without engaging? A rather simple path? It's also not the path most of us choose as we prefer to have a family, a successful career and so on and still find happiness. Is there no way to accomplish that..?

In The Lesson 3.3 it is said that- According to Vedanta our organs of knowledge and action are facilities which are subtle and belong to realm of subtle body. I would like an explanation on this. I am not sure I understand this. Does subtle body means consciousness?

Namaskaram , can someone let me know the clear difference or how to distinguish between a Mantra, Stotram, Slokam and Sutra?
In other words, suppose I see a couple of lines of text, is there a way to know if I am learning/reading a mantra/stotra/sloka/sutra assuming it is one of the four?
Thank you!

Hari Om,

Could you suggest a version of "Manusmriti" (in English) that I could buy? Could you share the author's name etc?
I would really appreciate a response

Anand

Hari Om!

Is Mahabharata real or myth?

There is controversy about this. Personally, the teaching from it and B. Gita is real for me.

Someone who is not familiar with Indian tradition, how would you answer that? Where had it happened? etc.

Sincerely,
Jigna

Namaskaram/Hari Om,

Is there an alternate way to pronounce the alphabet "la"?

For example, my native language is Malayalam. In Malayalam, written as മലയാളം we have ല and ള (The same sound in Tamil in the word "Vellai" with additional stress on la though). However, in Sanskrit, I have seen that there is only ल

I chant Kanakadhara stotram daily and there are words like

"Pulaka" - I pronounce it as ള instead of ല
"Mukula" - I pronounce it as ള instead of ല
"Mangala" - I pronounce it as ള instead of ല
"Kalambudali" - I pronounce it as ള instead of ല
"Lalitha" - First La pronounced as ल (ല) and li as ളി

My question is - Should it always be pronounced as ल (ല). Is there ള sound in Sanskrit

I hope, my question is straightforward. Sorry to have had to add the Malayalam alphabet. That was the only way I could express the sound here.

Thanks again
Anand

Namaskaram,

I started this course last week. I just wanted to thank the foundation and the Swamiji who is in the video for simplifying the course and for making it interesting at the same time. I look forward to the future sessions

Anand
