In this webinar, Swami Sharadananda will delve into the Srimad Bhagavata Mahatmya, a notable section found in the Uttara-khanda of the Padma Purana. Comprising six illuminating chapters dedicated to extolling the Srimad Bhagavatam, it unfolds an allegorical tale of Bhakti Devi, who, ensnared by the trials of Kaliyuga, experiences a spiritual revival at the hands of sage Narada Muni.
The first chapter, a dialogue between Saint Narada and the personified "Bhakti," sparks contemplation and deep introspection. Subsequently, the second chapter brings to life the enriching conversations between Sage Narada and the Sanat Kumaras. In the third chapter, we witness the alleviation of "Bhakti" from her tribulations. Chapters four and five regale us with the remarkable deeds of Gokarna.
In chapter six, we are offered insights into how the discourses of the venerable Srimad Bhagavatam can be thoughtfully planned over the span of seven days, constituting what is known as 'Saptaham'. This final chapter offers valuable insights for those aspiring to share the wisdom of the Bhagavatam effectively and systematically.
Through his lucid discourses on the text Swami Sharadananda emphasises on the power of the Bhagavata Purana in bestowing spiritual knowledge, purifying the soul to unite with the Divine, leading one towards liberation (moksha).
