Navaratri is associated with the prominent battle that took place between the Goddess Durga and demon Mahishasura, and signifies the victory of good over evil. During this joyous festival of nine nights, the Devi is worshiped as Sarasvati, Mahalakshmi, Durga and Lalita Tripurasundari. She also has a special form and name on each day.
