Being the shortest Upanisad with just 12 mantras, the Mandukya Upanisad possesses the quintessence of the entire Upanisadic teachings. It explores the entire range of human consciousness in the three states of waking (jagrat), dream (svapna) and deep sleep (susupti).
These discourses by Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati on the 12 mantras with Sankara-bhasya were recorded during the Advaita Vedanta Immersive camp held at Adi Sankara Nilayam in December 2019. Though considered a very advanced text of Vedanta, Swamiji explained this Upanisad in a very lucid manner.
Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati is a gold medalist in M.A. Advaita Vedanta from the prestigious Sanskrit university, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi. Swamiji is currently serving as the Acarya of the two-year residential Vedanta Course in Malayalam at Kerala Sandeepany, Adi Sankara Nilayam.
