Aparokshanubhuti is a prakarana-grantha authored by Sri Adi Sankara. It is a practical guide for seekers seeking direct realisation of the Self.

The text emphasises that true knowledge is not theoretical but must become an immediate, inner experience beyond doubt or duality. The text explains the impermanence of the phenomenal world, the eternal nature of the Self, and the path to inner freedom. 

The text also expounds the karma pertaining to a Self-realised person. It concludes with the description of the ashtanga-yoga process from the highest standpoint of Vedanta. Certain aspects of the text are advanced in nature and will require deep study and reflection.

About the Facilitator

Smt. Shanthi Rammohan completed the Vedanta Course (2011-2013) at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai. Presently, she conducts and coordinates various activities at Chinmaya International Foundation, such as Vedanta Courses, evaluation of Home Study Courses answer sheets, and responding to queries raised by students related to Vedanta study. She also conducts webinar classes on Upanishads, prakarana granthas, and Sanskrit.
