The thirteenth chapter ‘Kshetra Kshetrajna Yoga’, is the beginning of the ‘asi-pada’ of Vedantika mahavakya. ‘Kshetra’ – entire matter vestures, along with perceptions, feelings, thoughts, and ‘kshetrajna’ – the knower of this matter, are explained. The Lord explains the subject of Knowledge and the Man of Knowledge. Herein, we also have an exhaustive exposition of how to meditate directly upon the Imperishable Formless Spirit. How samsara comes about with the play of matter and Spirit, how Spirit identified with the matter becomes the knower, how the one understanding all this becomes the Man of Wisdom, is narrated.
