Bhagavad Gita Chapter 14

The Bhagavad Gita, the Lord’s song, is a dialogue between Lord Sri Krishna and Pandava Prince Arjuna on

the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

The fourteenth Chapter ‘Gunatraya-vibhaga Yoga’, discusses a very important aspect, which can assist the seeker to adjust his inner mechanism, for it is the gunas, inherent in the prakriti, which are the ropes that bind him to the matter. The chapter details all the aspects of three gunas – sattva, rajas, tamas – their effects, how they bind, how one single guna overpowers the other two, and guidance on how one can be vigilant so as not to be entrapped by the gunas. In response to Arjuna’s questions, the Lord also describes the lakshanas of a ‘gunatita’ – the one who has transcended the gunas.

This album contains discourses by Swami Advayananda, recorded in August 2022, during the Vedanta Sadhaka Course held in Adi Sankara Nilayam.
