Nothing in this world is more sacred or more potent than the Knowledge of the Self – it is the key to happiness, success and prosperity.
The fourth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga of Renunciation of Action in Knowledge, is an extension of the ideas propounded in the previous chapter on the Yoga of Action. With an explanation on the ‘Avatara rahasya’, Bhagavan also states that worshipping Him in any form with faith will lead one to Him, whichever may be the path – Karma, Bhakti or Jnana. It concludes with Shri Krishna stating the necessary qualities for acquiring this Knowledge of the Self and the ultimate Knowledge and advises Arjuna to be equipped with the sword of knowledge to slash the doubts born of ignorance. He urges us with the call to ‘Arise, O Bhrata!’ to achieve our true potential.
