Srimad Bhagavatam is renowned as one of the greatest compositions of Sanskrit Literature. This 18th Purana, composed by Maharishi Veda Vyasa, is extolled as the Mahapurana and is an integral part of the fabric of Indian culture. It stands unparalleled in its distinct and resplendent exaltation of the devotion to God – revealing the quintessence of Vedantic teachings.

In the 4th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam, the four goals of one’s life – Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha – are illustrated through four important stories.

  • Dharma – The Story of Daksha
  • Artha – The Story of Dhruva
  • Kama –  The Story of Prithu
  • Moksha – The Story of Prachena Barhis

Through these stories, the 4th Canto beautifully depicts the journey of the individual through Dharma, Artha, Kama and finally, Moksha.
