Three-day International Conference on
Spirituality, Education, and Patriotism:
Contribution of Swami Chinmayananda and Beyond
May 8–10, 2026

Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Lalita Pratishthanam Facility, Onakkoor, Kerala

Swami Chinmayananda (1916–1993) was a visionary monk, whose transformative contribution to the cultural revival of Bharat remains deeply significant. Reverentially known as Pujya Gurudev,  he was profoundly influenced by the lives and teachings of Sri Adi Sankaracarya, Sri Swami Shivananda, and Sri Swami Tapovanam. Determined to bridge the gap between timeless scriptural wisdom and modern-day living, Swami Chinmayananda made Advaita Vedanta accessible to the common person. As a leading teacher of Advaita Vedanta and a pioneering spiritual reformer, his work was firmly rooted in scriptural authority while simultaneously addressing the pragmatic needs of contemporary Indian society. His vision manifested through efforts in spiritual training, education, cultural rejuvenation, and service to the nation. Chinmaya Mission, founded by this great master, will mark 75 glorious years of selfless service in 2026. To commemorate this milestone and honour the enduring legacy of Vishvavandya Chinmayananda, a three-day International Conference is being organised from 8–10 May 2026.

The event is jointly hosted by:

  • Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF)
  • Chinmaya International Foundation Shodha Sansthan (CIFSS)
  • Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV)

These institutions were established to realise Swamiji’s grand vision of bridging the East and the West, past and present, science and spirituality, and the pundit and the public.

By situating Pujya Gurudev’s contributions within the broader frameworks of Vedantic scholarship and contemporary social challenges, this conference invites scholars and practitioners to reflect on six major tenets of human development:

    6. Establishing CIFSS (2008) and CVV (2017) as extensions of the same vision
