This Core Course provides supervision, through a Hindu lens, of students providing spiritual care in a community setting. The student must find an onsite volunteer spiritual care setting (such as in a hospital or hospice) with onsite training and supervision. The CIF classes are small in size, enabling personalised attention to each student. Students will present their cases via verbatims.

This class will meet weekly online in small groups with a CIF Hindu Supervisor who will review their verbatims and help the students develop their Hindu identity as a spiritual caregiver. Timing is either Saturdays 11:00am to 1:30pm ET or Sundays 8:00-10:30am ET.  Regular class attendance with cameras on is required.

Students must obtain permission from the CHSC Department before registering for this course.  Please contact spiritualcare@chinfo.org if you wish to take this course.

Instructor: Dr. Indira Palekar

Prerequisites: Four core courses should be completed before enrolling in the Clinical Practicum. Students must be enrolled concurrently in a local clinical setting for at least 5 hours/week. Approval of the CHSC Department is required before registering.
