Drig Drishya Viveka

The Drig Drishya Viveka authored by Sri Adi Sankaracharya contains 46 verses performing an inquiry into the distinction between the ‘Seer’ (Dṛg) and the ‘seen’ (Dṛshya), an overview of samadhi, centring on savikalpa and nirvikalpa, and the identity of Atman and Brahman.

Sri Adi Sankaracharya expounds on the methodology to distinguish between the ‘Seer’ (Drg) and the ‘seen’ (Drshya) thereby establishing the Truth that ‘I am the Seer and not the seen’.

Through Drig Drishya Viveka, Sri Adi Sankaracharya helps us ascertain our identity with the supreme Brahman and guides us in meditation so that we can realise our true nature of unconditional Bliss and end all sorrows for all time.
