Discover the clarity and depth of Advaita Vedanta through this illuminating album on the Hastamalaka Stotra.
The Hastamalaka Stotra comprises twelve profound verses attributed to the young realised boy, later named Hastamalaka by Acharya Shankara. ‘Hasta-amalaka’ means a gooseberry in one’s palm—symbolising how vividly the boy perceived the Self, as clearly as one might see a fruit in their hand. Deeply impressed, Acharya Shankara composed a commentary on these verses, which present the vision of the Self as pure, unchanging Consciousness.
Swami Advayananda unpacks the depth of these verses with lucid explanations, making this ancient text accessible to the modern seeker.
These discourses by Swami Advayananda, In-charge of Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), were recorded during the Adi Sankara Mahotsavam, held at Adi Sankara Nilayam in May 2017.
