This series of lectures were a part of the Summer School ‘Kalayoga’ organised by the CIF in collaboration with Karnataka Sanskrit University, with support from Indian Council of Philosophical Research, in July 2016. The lectures provide insights into the origin and philosophy of Indian Art and Aesthetics as described in the Indian classical literature. Speakers: Shatavadhani Dr. R. Ganesh – a poet and author in several languages, and a practitioner of the unique Indian art of avadhana; Sanskrit poet, Dr. R. Shankar; a traditional and modern Sanskrit scholar, Dr. S. Varakhedi; poet and aesthetician, Shri Arjun Bharadwaj, lecture-demonstrations on Carnatic music by Dr. T. S. Sathyavathi and Bharata-nāṭyam by Smt. Ramaa Bharadvaj.
