The Kenopanishad is a foundational text of Vedanta that guides the seeker from the known world to the Supreme Unknown through the path of enquiry and contemplation.
The term Kena means “by whom.” The Upanishad begins with a profound question posed by the student:
“Directed by whom does the mind think? Who directs the life-force to function? What power guides our senses and actions?”
The teacher’s response unravels the mystery of Consciousness. He declares:
“One who thinks he knows It, knows It not. One who knows he knows not, truly knows.”
The teachings culminate in a powerful anecdote that reveals the subtle Truth beyond words and thought.
This album features in-depth discourses by Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati, recorded in March 2022 as part of the Vedanta Sadhaka Course at Adi Sankara Nilayam, the maternal home of Adi Shankaracharya.
