The Word & The World

This series of talks were a part of the Summer School ‘The Word & The World’ organised by the Chinmaya International Foundation and Manipal University in July 2015. The lectures introduce the fundamental concepts of the philosophy of language with the focus on discursive, logical and analytical side of the Indian philosophical tradition.

About the Speakers

Prof. Ashok Akhlujkar, Professor Emeritus, School of Asian Studies, University of British Columbia, Canada, with extensive experience in teaching Sanskrit and related subjects in India, Europe and America.

Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Dean of the Faculty of Shastras, Karnataka Samskrit University, and Dean of Faculty, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth. He bridges traditional and modern academics with pioneering work in the field of Computational Linguistics.
