More about the Course
The Upanishad Ganga series encompasses the entire Vedic thought, culture, heritage, philosophy and wisdom spanning more than 5000 years. It is innovatively set against the background of Indian theatre, utilising story-telling and television in a style that uniquely combines the traditional with the modern.
These 52 episodes present the relevance of the Upanishadic wisdom to human existence, with its timeless appeal and basic aspirations of the human being – the desire to exist, the desire to know, and the desire to be happy. Upanishads deal with the nature of the Subject, the common substratum of all objective enquiries, and essential question: Who am I?
The uniqueness of the Upaniṣad Gaṅgā TV series is that the knowledge is ancient but its relevance is ever new, fresh and presented through different topics in theatrical dramatisations. While the language medium is Hindi, there are English subtitles.
A total of 52 video episodes preceded by 31 lectures by Swami Tejomayananda Sarasvati and divided into 15 lessons, are made available to the registered students.
