The Aranya Kanda is the third section of the Valmiki Ramayana, one of the ancient Indian epics. In this section, the narrative focuses on the period of exile of Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshmana. The Aranya Kanda describes the trio’s experiences during the 14-year exile in the forest, including encounters with various sages, demons, and divine beings. A significant event in this part of the epic is the abduction of Sita by the demon king Ravana. The Aranya Kanda explores themes of duty, righteousness, and the challenges faced by the protagonists as they navigate through the trials of the forest exile. This album contains discourses by Swami Ramakrishnananda recorded during the webinar series organised by CIF from January to May 2022.
