Shriman Narayaniyam

Krishnapriya is an ideal commentary on Narayaniyam of Sri Melputtur Narayanabhatta, which is one of the best treatise for nurturing devotion in our hearts. This book is penned by Prof. Krishnakumar, a retired professor, and an author of many Sanskrit commentaries.

In the book, each verse is followed by the prose order and a paragraph giving the word-by-word meaning of the verse with essential mar for easy understanding. The author also provides citations from Kosha and other reference texts, which are used to explain the verses. The author’s style is simple and elegant, and helps to understand the text in depth.

Since a long time, the author wanted to pen a simple commentary in Sanskrit, which would be beneficial for serious seekers and devotees of the Lord, with a little or no knowledge of the Sanskrit language. The present edition of Shrimannarayaniyam, published by Chinmaya International Foundation, with the commentary Krishnapriya, amply fulfills this need.
