Vedic Suktas – Part 1 (Video Pen Drive)

‘Veda’ means knowledge. The entire Vedic corpus is preserved by oral tradition, which renders it the name ‘shruti’. The Indian Knowledge System has the Vedic corpus as its foundation. The 4 Vedas, 6 Vedangas, Purana, Dharmashastra, Nyaya and Mimamsa are collectively known as 14 vidyasthanas.

Prof. Gauri Mahulikar, Academic Director of CIF, introduces the participants to the 14 vidyasthanas, gives them a brief idea of the Vedic deities, expounds the Vedic suktas praising Agni, Indra, Varuna, Vishnu and Rudra, and explains the translations with various interpretations.
