The Mantra Matruka Pushpa Mala Stavam, meaning ‘A Garland of Mantra Flowers for the Divine Mother’, is a sacred hymn that venerates the Divine Mother, especially within the Shakta tradition, which focuses on the worship of the Goddess. This powerful hymn celebrates the various forms of the Divine Mother, represented by the sounds of the Sanskrit alphabets, known as the matruka letters. Each of these sounds is envisioned as a sacred flower that adorns the Divine Mother, who is honoured as the source of all cosmic vibrations and energies.
In the Mantra Matruka Pushpa Mala Stavam, each matruka or Sanskrit letter, symbolises a unique cosmic energy, sound, or vibration that forms the fabric of the universe. Chanting or reciting this hymn is a way to devote oneself to the Divine Mother and seek blessings, wisdom, and spiritual insights. Practitioners believe that chanting this hymn harmonises the mind and body, fostering a profound connection with the Divine Mother.
Regular chanting of the Mantra Matruka Pushpa Mala Stavam brings peace, enhances spiritual growth, and nurtures a deeper, more harmonious connection with the Divine Mother.
In this recording, Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati offers a guided path for spiritual seekers to deepen their understanding and experience of the Divine Mother. The album includes:
- Manasa Puja (mental worship) to Bhagavati
- Shodasha Upacharas – the 16 types of offerings presented by devotees
- The Shodashi Secret Mantra – a revered mantra of Shodashi
These teachings were recorded during a webinar held at Adi Sankara Nilayam in October 2024.
