Narayaneeyam is a devotional Sanskrit poem of 1,034 verses composed by Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri, the 16th century poet-saint. It is considered to be one of the most important works of the bhakti movement in India.
The poem is a retelling of the Bhagavata Purana, a Hindu scripture that narrates the life and deeds of Lord Krishna. Each verse of Narayaneeyam is a prayer to Lord Krishna, and the poem is believed to possess great healing power, especially for physical and mental ailments.
Narayaneeyam is revered by devotees of Lord Krishna and is often recited as a daily prayer. It is also studied for its literary and philosophical value, as it provides insights into the nature of devotion, surrender, and divine grace.
