A Journey From The Form To Formless
Ganapati Atharvashirsha, also known as Ganapati Upanishad, is a profound Upanishadic text that reveals the highest knowledge through the symbol of Ganapati. This is not just a devotional hymn – it is a scriptural journey into the very nature of Brahman.
Far from being just a hymn of praise, this text unfolds the highest knowledge – not about going to heaven, but about knowing Brahman Itself. The text begins with Ganapati as the formless, nirguna-nirakara Reality, then moves through Ishvara, and finally explores the saguna (manifest) aspect of the divine.
Whether you revere Ganesha as a beloved deity or are seeking the philosophical depth behind the symbolism, this session will take you beyond the form to the formless – to the very core of Vedantic insight.
The webinar will broadly cover:
Tattva-khanda (Mantras 1–2): Where Ganapati is revealed as the absolute Reality – Brahman, Ishvara, the entire universe (jagat), the individual (jiva), and the innermost Self (Atman).
Upasana-khanda (Mantras 3–10): Covering the spiritual practices that help us realise this truth – including Jnana upasana (contemplation), mantra japa upasana (repetition), and dhyana upasana (meditation).
Phala-shruti (Mantras 11–14): The concluding portion that declares the benefits of chanting and reflecting on this knowledge, as revealed directly in the Shruti (Veda).
