Saddarshana

Saddarshana was originally written by Sri Ramana Maharshi as ‘Ulladu Narpadu’ in Tamil. ‘Ulladu’ means ‘inner essence’ or ‘essentially’. In 40 verses, the text presents the seeker with the knowledge of the ‘inner essence’. 

Through an intriguing path of self-enquiry, Sri Ramana Maharshi reveals the non-dual all-pervading essence of jiva, jagat and Ishvara. By the study of this text, one gains the knowledge of the Reality, ‘the absolute Truth’, which is not limited by time, space or object.

Amongst the three kinds of visions, namely, worldly vision, noble vision and divine vision, each succeeding vision is more enriching in its value when compared to the previous one. Through this text Saddarshana, Sri Ramana Maharishi takes us directly to this divine vision.

Facilitator

Swami Advayananda was inspired by the teachings of the visionary saint Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda and joined Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai, the Gurukula of the Chinmaya Mission, at a young age of 18. In 1992, on completing his Vedanta Course at the Sandeepany, he was blessed with Brahmacharya Diksha (dedicated spiritual life) from Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. Later, in 2003, he was initiated into the sacred order of sannyasa by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda. Presently, Swamiji is serving as the President of Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) and as a Trustee of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV).
