The Final Message: Bhagavad Gita – Chapter 18
Vedanta Vijnana Course with Swami Advayananda
The Bhagavad Gita ends with a powerful promise that a life of freedom, peace and purpose is possible for each one of us.
In the 18th Chapter – Moksha Sannyasa Yoga, Arjuna asks a question many of us have silently wondered: What does it truly mean to let go? Is it about giving up life’s duties, or is it something deeper?
Sri Krishna’s answer takes us on a journey through:
- Understanding the difference between renunciation and abandonment
- How the three gunas (sattva, rajas, tamas) shape our mind and actions
- Discovering our natural duties and how living them leads to perfection
- Practical ways to keep the mind calm and prepared for meditation
And finally, Krishna leaves us with His most intimate guidance – “Take refuge in Me” – the supreme step to Liberation.
Chapter 18 is the final report and roadmap — summing up all that the Gita has to offer for a seeker’s spiritual journey.
The final message of Sri Krishna is beautifully brought out in this Chapter where one must completely surrender to the Lord and give up all agency of actions.
In this module, you will learn:
- The threefold nature of knowledge, action and the doer
- Why some efforts succeed while others fail
- How to discover your path through your natural temperament
- What perfection and Liberation really mean
- The Gita’s final and most uplifting message – the path to freedom
