ParticipantNot an Issue! The Vyāghāta-doṣa will happen only when both the entities belong to the same realm of reality and one has a property which the substratum of that entity does not have. Maya belongs to Vyavahara and Brahman is Paramarthika satyam. Just as an example -a mirage water can be seen over the dessert which has no such water in it.

ParticipantIntellect is the discriminating faculty – Correct ! That is why, ‘desire’ a firm conviction that an object is present in my proximity – which will give me joy – is located in the intellect. The Mind then comes up with thoughts about the object – ‘Yes the object is really looking great’; “This object should be kept always in my possession” or ‘my mother told me not to eat outside’ etc.

ParticipantA karma-yogin too has given up sankalpa, since his actions are dedicated to the Lord and are not selfish. He performs actions for God’s happiness and not for any of his sankalpa. Yogarudha is surely devoid of sankalpa. But a karma-yogin too is without a sankalpa and hence is called as the real yogi or the real sannyasin by Lord Krishna at the beginning of the chapter. Hope this helps.

ParticipantPhalashruthi and mangalacharan are different, Phalashruthi is given at the end as the benefit one gets on recitation etc. Mangalacharan is an invocation done to get the blessings at the beginning of a study to ensure the study happens successfully.

ParticipantYes, what is meant is knowledge puts an end to the ignorance of one’s nature, all this happens at the mind/ intellect level. The Self which was already Liberated, then shines on its own. Knowledge only removes the ignorance, as the clouds when removed the sun shines on its own.

ParticipantHari Om,
Jnana yoga includes the practice of meditation. The preliminary aspects of Raja yoga prcedes meditation. The aspects of Raja yoga like dharna, samadhi are included as meditation process in Jnana yoga. Also the final goal of Jnana yoga is jiva brahma aikya which is not the case of Raja yoga. In other words we can include Raja yoga within Jnana yoga.
