      Hari Om,

Lesson 7.4 – State of Divinity mentions 3 techniques to achieve state of divinity.

      1. Jnana yoga
      2. Bhakti yoga
      3. Karma yoga

We have also heard “Raj yoga” which is also a book by Swami Vivekananda. Where does this technique fall into and what kind of people is it suitable for? Is there a reason this technique is not mentioned in the lesson?

      Dhanyavaad.

Based on my understanding (please confirm with your teacher), Vedantas are much earlier than Raja Yoga that was formalized around 600BC by Patanjali. As to what people are suited for it, The Gita mentions it in Chapter 6, Dhyana Yoga. One who practices moderation in life – appropriate food, appropriate sleep, appropriate entertainment, appropriate work. The Gita 6.16 and 6.17

      Hari Om,

Jnana yoga includes the practice of meditation. The preliminary aspects of Raja yoga prcedes meditation. The aspects of Raja yoga like dharna, samadhi are included as meditation process in Jnana yoga. Also the final goal of Jnana yoga is jiva brahma aikya which is not the case of Raja yoga. In other words we can include Raja yoga within Jnana yoga.
