As explained in lesson 1, Special features of the Gita in Point number 5 (i) that our innate nature is to avoid a problem or escape a trouble situation. And Bhagvad Gita empowers us to face them effectively. I am abit confused here with this statement.
Sometimes situations can be worse and escaping it is the best option to be on the right path and prevent self from harm.
      How do we decide?

      Hari Om!

Yes, sometimes not engaging in the situation and walking away may be the best solution. However it should not be done instinctively or as a knew jerk reaction. If after considerable deliberation, evaluation of pros and cons, and then a decision is made, that is fine.

In this context of Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna wanted to escape. Why, because he could not handle the prospect of killing Bhishma and Drona whom he respected and revered. That is when Bhagavan stepped in and taught him how to analyse the situation before making the decision to act. It is only the animals that react instinctively. We humans have the intellect and we should use it to look every situation and then come up with an action plan.

The simple question to pose is whether escaping is the dharmic or adharmic. The answer to that question will come only when we study the scriptures. As the study of Gita continues one will be able to make such a determination. Then you can decide to act or not act.
