Adi Sankara Nilayam, the sacred ancestral maternal birth home of Sri Adi Sankaracharya and abode of Chinmaya International Foundation, will host a special residential camp organised by Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas (Govt. of Madhya Pradesh) for a select group of young aspirants keen to study a Sri Adi Sankaracharya’s Vedanta Dindima – a unique and powerful prakarana grantha of 94 lucid verses that presents the resounding drumbeat of Vedanta, proclaiming the non‑dual Reality, Brahman, and the supremacy of Self‑knowledge.

This camp is primarily intended for the youth of the Ekta Nyas, while others are welcome to attend the study sessions and learn alongside them along with their sadhana at the sacred Adi Sankara Nilayam.

Over nine days participants will study the text systematically under the guidance of Swami Advayananda, as Vedanta Dindima unfolds the contrast between worldly pursuits and the quest for Liberation, and establishes that moksha is gained only through Knowledge.

About Vedanta Dindima

Composed by Sri Adi Sankaracharya, Vedanta Dindima is a compact Vedantic text presenting the essence of Advaita Vedanta in a striking and memorable manner.

  • It is described as a ‘drumbeat of Vedanta’ that repeatedly proclaims one Reality – Brahman – in contrast to all apparent dualities.

  • Across 94 verses, it highlights:

    • The distinction between Atman and the body–mind–sense complex.

    • The fact that knowledge (para-vidya) alone grants freedom, unlike objective or worldly knowledge.

Vedanta Dindima serves as an excellent bridge text for students who have some exposure to Vedanta and wish to internalise its vision more deeply through contemplative study.

Objectives of the Camp

By the end of the camp, participants can expect to:

  • Gain a clear, verse-by-verse understanding of Vedanta Dindima and its key teaching points

  • Appreciate how the text contrasts worldly commitments with the single-pointed pursuit of liberation

  • Deepen their understanding of central Advaitic ideas such as:

    • Brahman as the one non-dual Reality

    • Atma–anatma viveka (discrimination between Self and not-Self)

    • The role of shravana–manana–nididhyasana in gaining and stabilising knowledge

  • Integrate the teachings into daily life through guided contemplation and satsanga.
