The timing of the Mahabharata war provides the sheet anchor for the history of Hindu civilization. The Mahabharata text has 300+ astronomy evidence which describes the ancient sky of Mahabharata war time. Nilesh Oak has analyzed this evidence using modern astronomy & tested it via scientific method and logical reasoning. The evidence points to Mahabharata war occurring in 5561 BCE; more than 7500 years ago. He analyzes & critiques alternate claims using the logic of scientific discovery. It makes for an illuminating & fascinating exploration of Mahabharata historicity and Indian astronomy with far-reaching consequences for the present and the future. Nilesh Nilkanth Oak is an author with two critically acclaimed books: ‘When did the Mahabharata War Happen?’, ‘The Historic Rama’, and upcoming ‘Bhishma Nirvana’. He holds BS & MS in Chemical engineering and executive MBA with 20+ years of corporate experience. He researches in ancient Indian history using multidisciplinary evidence. Nilesh is an adjunct professor at Institute of Advanced Sciences, Dartmouth, USA. These are recordings of talks by Prof. Nilesh Nilkanth Oak at the Lessons from the Mahābhārata for Modern Bhārat workshop organised by CIF in collaboration with Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth in June 2018.
