Meghadutam is one of the most celebrated works of Kalidasa and a jewel of Sanskrit lyrical poetry. Though brief in length, it is unmatched in its richness of imagery, emotional depth and cultural detail. The poem captures the ache of separation (viraha), transforming it into an artistic journey across the Indian subcontinent.

Through vivid descriptions of landscapes, seasons, cities, and sacred spaces, Meghadutam reveals how classical Sanskrit poetry weaves emotion with geography, devotion with aesthetics, and imagination with precision. Every verse offers insight into ancient Indian life, values, and artistic sensibility.

This extensive webinar series presents a slow, meticulous, and immersive study of Meghadutam, allowing participants to appreciate not only the meaning of each verse but also its literary beauty, grammatical elegance, and cultural context. It is ideal for students, scholars, and rasikas who wish to truly dwell within the world of Sanskrit poetry.
