Why do human beings love stories? Because stories speak directly to the heart. From childhood to old age, stories captivate us, educate us, and remain with us long after abstract ideas fade. Recognising this timeless truth, our sages chose storytelling as the most powerful means to communicate the highest wisdom.
Sankshipta Ramayana belongs to the sacred category of Itihasa – that which truly happened. It is not mythology, but history presented with literary beauty and spiritual depth. Unlike later devotional retellings, Valmiki ji presents Sri Rama primarily as a human being, experiencing joy, sorrow, compassion, loss, and resolve. Through this deeply human portrayal, the ideals of dharma become accessible and real.
This chapter offers a complete overview of Sri Rama’s life and mission while inviting the seeker to reflect on fundamental questions of duty, righteousness, surrender, and purpose. Even beyond historical debates, the Ramayana remains eternally relevant – inspiring, instructive, and transformative.
Beginning on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, this course invites seekers to engage with the Ramayana as both sacred history and a living guide for one’s own life.
