Pramāṇa Vicāra

The Inquiry into Valid Knowledge, and the Path to Knowing One's True Self.

Pramāṇa Vicāra
The Inquiry into Valid Knowledge, and the Path to Knowing One’s True Self.
Compiled, polished, and arranged from the notes of a twelvesession Vedānta study circle facilitated by Sri Prasad Deole.

This book began as notes — handwritten pages and hurried phone-taps — kept across twelve Sunday sessions of a Vedānta study circle held between May and July 2024, facilitated by Prasad Deole. What you hold now is those same notes: checked for spelling and grammar, reorganised by theme rather than by date so the argument runs in one continuous line, and set here with the care a subject like this deserves. Wherever an illustration has been added to sharpen a point the original notes only implied, it is offered in the same spirit as the teaching itself — not as an authority of its own, but as a finger pointing at the moon. The traditional examples, verses, and Sanskrit citations are preserved as taught; transliteration follows the standard IAST convention throughout (ā, ī, ū, ṛ, ṃ, ḥ, ś, ṣ, ṭ, ḍ, ṇ, ñ, ṅ) so that readers unfamiliar with Devanāgarī can still sound out every term correctly.

All errors of transmission belong to the compiler.
All insight belongs to the tradition, and to the teacher who gave it voice.
