Swami Shashvatananda is a dedicated disciple of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. He completed the Vedanta Course in 2002 at Sandeepany Vidyamandir, Chinmaya Gardens, Coimbatore, under the guidance of Swami Advayananda, now President of Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF). In 2016, he was initiated into the sacred order of Sannyasa by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda.
Swamiji began his service with Chinmaya Mission at Tiruchengode from 2003 to 2006. He then served at Chinmaya International Foundation from 2006 to 2016, where he coordinated the Vedanta Home Study Courses and contributed to several significant projects such as Sukti Sudha, Brahmasutra, and the Upanishad Ganga television series, under the mentorship of Swami Advayananda.
Swamiji has translated all 52 episodes of the Upanishad Ganga series into Tamil, now available on the Chinmaya Channel. Deeply inspired by Pujya Gurudev, he authored Thavapudhalvan, a Tamil biography of Gurudev, and translated his Bhagavad Gita commentary into Tamil.
His discourses span across a wide range of spiritual texts including the Kambaramayanam, Nalayira Divya Prabandham, Bhagavad Gita, and the Prakarana Granthas of Bhagavan Adi Shankaracharya. Swamiji’s Gita classes are known for their clarity and accessibility, enabling listeners of all ages to connect deeply with the teachings.
From 2017 to 2020, Swamiji served at Chinmaya Mission Salem, actively leading grassroots initiatives and conducting spiritual classes throughout the city. From 2020 to 2025 (March), he served in Chinmaya Mission Hosur, where he energized the sevaks and initiated key programs such as Shishu Vihar, Devi Group, and Balavihar. He also facilitated workshops for teachers on Value Education.
At present, Swami Shashvatananda continues to serve Pujya Gurudev’s vision through his enlightening classes and discourses in both Tamil and English at the Chinmaya International Foundation.
