Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12

The Bhagavad Gita, the Lord’s song, is a dialogue between Lord Sri Krishna and Pandava Prince Arjuna on

the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

In the twelfth chapter ‘Bhakti Yoga’, in response to Arjuna’s question – which type of worship is better (of the manifest form or the unmanifest), the Lord enumerates the different ways to reach Him. The nature of devotion, the qualities of a devotee and the various methods of spiritual practice are all elaborated herein. He also declares that renunciation – abandoning the attachment towards karma, is the better option. The Lord also narrates 36 qualities of an ideal bhakta – the jnanin – man of perfection, with an assurance that gaining these qualities and worshipping Him with utmost faith, makes that bhakta extremely dear to Him.

This album contains discourses by Swami Advayananda, recorded in August 2022, during the Vedanta Sadhaka Course held in Adi Sankara Nilayam.
