      Do not restrict your understanding to just throwing up. The udaana vayu is the faculty that is involved in any leap from one state to another. In any learning process there is a transition from not knowing to knowing and the change invariably involves a discrete, quantum leap. That is where udaana vayu comes in and that is decribed as the capacity by which existing wrong notions are removed and replaced new acquired convicrtions.
