      Is Mahabharata real or myth?

      There is controversy about this. Personally, the teaching from it and B. Gita is real for me.

      Someone who is not familiar with Indian tradition, how would you answer that? Where had it happened? etc.

      Both Mahabharata and Ramayana are not myth or mythology as wrongly translated. They are history, in Sanskrit itihasa. The word itihasa itself means ‘Thus it happened’. So they are real events that happened in the past. Hope that clarifies.
