Kanda-Puranam

Of the 18 puranas, Kandha Puranam is the longest purana, containing the essence of the Vedas in the form of 1 lakh granthas. A small portion of this is translated into Tamil language by Kachchiyappa Sivachariyar, a poet-saint who lived in the 11th century. The collection of 10,345 songs is divided into 6 cantos.

The first canto Uthpathi-kandam has 26 chapters, which expounds  the glory of tapas, Lord Muruga’s manifestation, His divine sports, leadership qualities, valour and compassion.

The remaining cantos are Asura-kandam, Mahendra-kadnam, Yuddha-kandam, Deva-kandam and Daksha-kandam.

Those who do parayanam (chanting) and/or listen to the Kandha Puranam are assured greatness here and hereafter. Effortless positive personality transformation is the result of studying Kandha Puranam.

In this webinar, one can study 200 selected songs from Canto 1 with word to word meaning. The other songs will be covered in the form of a story.
