Saundarya Lahari is a devotional hymn of one hundred verses composed by Sri Adi Sankaracharya. The hymn is divided into two parts – the first part, comprising verses 1 to 41, is called the Ananda Lahari, or Waves of Bliss; and verses 42 to 100 comprise the Saundarya Lahari, or Waves of Beauty.
The hymn, written in the shikharini metre, extols in Ananda Lahari, the dynamic aspect of Brahman, as Shakti, manifestations for worship and the modes of internal meditation. The second part, Saundarya Lahari, contains a magnificent exposition of the beauties of the charming form of the Divine Mother.
In these discourses Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati enlightens the participants on the essence of the verses, their significance and benefits in one’s daily life to awaken the devotion within.
This album contains discourses on verses 11 to 41 by Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati recorded during the second camp on Saundarya Lahari held at Adi Sankara Nilayam in March 2024.
Saundarya Lahari Part 1 covered verses 1 to 10. You can subscribe to the album here:
