ParticipantIntellect is the discriminating faculty – Correct ! That is why, ‘desire’ a firm conviction that an object is present in my proximity – which will give me joy – is located in the intellect. The Mind then comes up with thoughts about the object – ‘Yes the object is really looking great’; “This object should be kept always in my possession” or ‘my mother told me not to eat outside’ etc.

ParticipantSo is mind seat of emotions or thoughts ? I am confused by the statement that “Mind comes up with thoughts” because it has been referenced as seat of emotions.

ParticipantDhanyavaad. Appreciate your response.
However, reading further lessons, I came across this statement.
Lesson 8 – Page#6 – summary of “Play of the Mind, Lesson 5.1” . It says –
“all religions advise rehabilitation of a human being’s inner equipment (mind and intellect, that is feelings and thoughts)“.
So according to this, thoughts come in intellect and feelings in mind.
However, in one of the lessons, mind is also referred to as flow of thoughts, comparing it to river and intellect to the banks of river guiding the flow of thoughts. I am confused as to which one is true.
Dhanyavad for the guidance so far.
